Abstract
An experienced Project Manager/Chartered Civil Engineer whose work has included a wide range of public sector projects, some very complex involving multi-disciplinary design teams and specialist advisers. Most recent work has been in nuclear safety both in reviewing and preparing safety justifications and managing the preparation of safety cases by others.
Project responsibilities have included supervision of design commissions; preparation of contract documents and specifications; management of the construction stage; liaison and reports to clients on brief requirements, technical advice, progress and financial status.
Present responsibility is as team leader for Rolls Royce staff employed as safety case managers to the Naval Base Design Authority (NBDA), Ministry of Defence. The team represent the NBDA on Safety Authorisation Groups and Design Committees and review safety justifications and provide advice to other Base departments. Own responsibility is also to manage external contracts for the preparation of safety justifications for the Shiplift and Finger Jetty facilities at Faslane.
All management in last 12 years has been to BS5750 and more recently ISO 9000 QA requirements.
