Successes and Specialities

Introduced, educated, developed and continue to manage and control the Risk Management process for HMNB Clyde Shiplift Safety Case Project Team (SSCPM), improving processes and adding value to the facility. Introduced the tool set : PANDORA III, Predict! Risk Analyser and GRANEDA Dynamic to the project.

Extensive experience and knowledge in the SSCPM Programme and the technical aspects within the activities conducted by both the Platform and Non Platform work packages. Currently assisting SSCPM with the Medium Term Programme activities for the Shiplift.

Provided specialist consultancy support to HMNB Clyde SSCPM with the experience and qualification of Control & Protection Engineering Design and System Monitoring Design Engineering in Military & Civil Applications.

Provided specialist consultancy support to HMNB Clyde SSCPM in Planning Management and techniques, Systems & Systems Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Development Lifecycles, Requirement & Acceptance Management and Database & Information Management.

Introduced, developed and continue to manage the Risk Management process for the Cross Site Services improvement programme at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Extensive experience with the practises adopted in Project Management and Engineering support provided at both HMNB Clyde and Devonport Dockyards.

Liased and assisted Project Directors and Business Development consultants with improvements to existing processes and Management Plans adopted within the group.

Project Manager and acting team leader of four engineers during team leader's period of absence.

Provided high quality risk management and planning consultancy to various clients at director level and engineering level in accordance with BAe internal policies and procedures and MoD technical bulleting 09/74. Used MSAccess, MSProject, @Risk for Project/Excel, Predict : Risk Analyser, GRANEDA Dynamic and MSExcel tools.

Managed the development of a software design life-cycle process adopting Coad and Yordan's OOA/D methodologies which involved team management of three people, management reviews, and presentations to director level personnel. Tools used RDD-100 relational database and BEACON software design environments.

Managed the site installation of a section of a Water Purifying system and responsible for a core site team of five people and subcontractors. Design, development, installation, test and commissioning all performed in accordance with IEE and ISO standards.

1998 - BAe Defence Systems, Glasgow
  Risk Manager & Planning Consultant
  Liasing with clients at engineering and at directorate level. Responsible for complete Risk/Planning support and seek future business for the group
  Responsible for full Risk Management of Tender Bid proposals in the region of £20,000 to £100m, and Risk Managing and Planning projects with a value from £40,000 to £300m.
  Responsibilities within the group involve business development and improvement and the research in state-of-the-art software tool environments to enhance the group's Risk Management capabilities, working with a budget of £8,000.
  Extensive experience in using MS Access 'PANDORA' risk database, 'Predict Risk Analyser' & '@Risk' Risk Simulation Tools and 'GRANEDA Dynamic' Planning & Model graphic tool.
  Responsible for the creation of brochures, selling the group's services and assistance with the development of the group's Value Plan covering short term and long term objectives. Support Customers with their Business Development Requirements and Plans.
1995 - 1998 BAe Military Aircraft, Warton.
  Systems Controls & Protection Project Engineer
  Responsible for various engineering activities with Eurofighter, Jetstream & Nimrod Aircraft Projects.
  Responsible for Eurofighter Software Ground Test Plans and implementation for S1 and S2 software releases for a project worth over £1.2b.
  Provided Customer Support for the Jetstream 41 lease fleet, providing company revenue of £100,000 a week.
  With the Nimrod Project, responsibilities involved Development of Software Design Life-Cycle, Team leadership, control & protection harness design for the complete electrical system. This activity with Nimrod, supported a major development requirement of a project worth in excess of £1.4b.
1994 - 1995 EXEECO Ltd. Leeds
  Electrical Design & Systems Project Engineer
  Responsible for complete Electrical Design and Software/Hardware Control, Monitoring & Protection Design for projects with the Water Industry, Building services and Electrical Power Stations
  Projects ranged from small refurbishment projects valued under £1,000 to large scale new developed installations valued at around £100m.
  The responsibilities also included a degree of Project /Site Management for full development projects from Bid Proposals, through Design, Installation Testing and commissioning.
